A walk on the beach

While not quite summer beach coming season, Mom and the dogs and I took an early afternoon stroll on the beach during the beginning of low tide. Rough winter on the beach as there was a 5 metre ice ridge at the edge of the dunes from Feb till March. It pushed most of the soft sand up on the sea grass or dragged it back out into the bay on retreat.

A few larger sized trees have also come ashore and are vying for the king of the driftwood title. Not sure if we will cut them up with a chain saw and let mother nature deal, or begin a very large bonfire pile.

Lucy and Justice decided to test the early season surf but found the break to be weak. The decided to continue dining on dead crab and other assorted sea treats.

The new blue on Aspen House peeking out from the hill top. New paint job this year on the house, eaves and decks. Looks great.

They say the Fair Isle looses 2ft of shore per year. More likely, some parts shrink and others parts gain. Case in point - the land will loose a tree and the beach will gain a new drift wood candidate.
